Kimmy Stevenson is an artist from Annapolis, Maryland. Her passion for visual arts range from pen and ink drawings, to traditional acrylic/gouache painting, and colorful contemporary pop art. Growing up on the water gave Kimmy has a unique appreciation for her hometown and local community. Much of her work showcases the Chesapeake Bays iconic and diverse wildlife.
Stevenson attributes her creativity and passion for art to her family and upbringing. Her influences include the meticulous detail and line work of Frank Lloyd Wright, painter Rene Magritte, and contemporary street artists such as Keith Haring, Brian “KAWS” Donnelly, and Belgian artist Vince “Vexx” Okerman. Kimmy is currently a student at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts where she studies Entrepreneurship, Philosophy, and Sports Media. Her diverse influences and interests affect the way she approaches each piece, finding subtle ways to tell a story and value connection.
Kimmy exhibits her work regularly at local venues within her hometown. She believes in the power of community and always includes a community giveback donation from the sale of her work.
